How many times have you opened the fridge door in vain after dinner because your sweet tooth refused to cave in and you found nothing? Well those times are long gone, because we bring to you 5 easy no bake desserts recipes to make at home so those dinners at night end on a sweet note.
#1 Expresso and Chocolate Mug Cake
Add about 3 tbsp of maida, 2 tbsp of cocoa powder and sugar, 1 tsp of coffee powder, 1/4 tsp of baking powder in a coffee mug. Then add one egg, 2 tbsp oil and milk to the dry ingredients and mix well. Flavour with vanilla extract and cook in a microwave oven for 90 seconds.
#2 Coconut Dates
Grab some dates (khajur) and knead them so they make a nice ball with dough like consistency. Add in a cereal of your choice and once again, knead well. Then divide them into two- bite sized portions and roll in shredded coconut and cool in a fridge.
#3 Yogurt- Mango Lollies
Add the mangos and 1/2 tsp lemon juice into a food processer and process away! Add 1 cup of yogurt or dahi, and a tiny bit of sugar, this is more of a preference based thing, and process some more. Pour the mixture into kulfi moulds and freeze overnight.
#4 Caramel Bananas
Take two bananas (one per person) and cut them up into small discs. In a pan, melt 1 tbsp butter and add 1/2 cup sugar on medium high flame. Wait patiently while the sugar melts, and keep an eye on the pan and stir occasionally. Add the bananas into the pan, caramelize and then transfer onto a plate. This recipe serves two people – to make more, add one banana per person and accordingly increase the butter and sugar.
#5 Fruit Granita
The last on the no bake desserts recipes list is the fruit granita. Take your 1/2 kgs of your favourite fruit and de-seed, peel and cut them. Add the fruit into a pan with 1 cup water and 3/4 cups sugar. Cook on medium heat till the fruit is mushy and the sugar is dissolved. Spread thinly in a shallow dish and place it in the freezer after it has cooled to room temperature. Every 30 minutes, take the dish out and rake the frozen granita with a fork to get a snow like texture. The more you rake it the finer the texture will be.
